Power Rangers (2017) Trailer

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Aside from the Red Ranger it actually looks pretty good...

I quite like that they have superpowers, it would be a bit dumb if it was just kids fighting monsters in a more serious take on the series.

The trailer is...weirdly like Chronicle though.

Several friends find a special thing, special thing gives them powers, generally the format of the trailer is almost the same.

I'm quite excited for the movie, I like how they're catering it more towards people who would have watched Power Rangers years ago when it was more popular.

I just hope that it is it's own movie. 80% of the run time better not be lame references to other series.

They've done this before in previous ranger series. Mystic Force comes to mind.

Not as bad as I thought, tbh, fingers crossed.

I didn't like it too much. It was just "meh." But it's only the first trailer, so I'm expecting a better reception when they reveal more. Right now it looks like a really long origin story with the final 10-15 minutes containing all the good action.

The power rangers have ALWAYS had superpowers. It's nothing new.

Also, this should've been posted in this movie's thread: http://dbzf.co.uk/topic/8572926/1/

I agree with Pyrus, this trailer was pretty meh.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Well I don't remember the originals ever displaying them much, just being able to jump far.

Not like smashing sinks and being a near immovable object they were fairly human.

(probably due to the special effects budget)

Yeah I hope it's not just going to be 15 minutes of action at the end...far too many movies do that. We know what they are, just get to the meat of the movie dammit.

I liked how they didn't show much though, not even Zordon.

Hopefully later trailers don't ruin it.

Also it's pretty cool how they're actually troubled teens.

Yeah, the originals didn't do much, but later Rangers did a lot of impressive stuff, like lifting cars, moving, flying and teleporting so fast they became blurs, and taking the comics into account, they could solo large groups of putties with ease.

More like the lack of Super Sentai footage.

Or Lord Zedd. Hopefully he's in this movie. You can't have Power Rangers without Lord Zedd.

They were also troubled teens in the original show though. They got bullied aswell.

I'm hoping they use the MMPR theme.

They were still pretty nice kids overall though it didn't really mesh well with the idea.

I feel like people are going to hate on it for that even though it makes more sense.

I don't care about what villains they use so much as...GIVE US THE f***ING ZORDS

They better not be used for some sequel bait crap, use the Green Ranger for that. He is way cool enough to make people interested(provided they liked the originals)

I hope the guy who played Tommy makes some sort of cameo that'd be cool, he's an MMA fighter or something now, perhaps he could be one of the villains in costume.

Well, Tommy did make a return for the anniversary special so any thing's possible.

Jason David Frank would totally be up for a cameo if the movie proves worth its merit. He seems to be a good sport about acting projects from his Facebook page, at least.

I bet they're keep Lord Zedd and/or the Green Ranger as sequel bait. It makes the most sense to me.

I don't know how I feel about the kids having powers without the suits on. The later seasons that did that usually had an excuse such as the kids being mutants/genetically created, or their morphing item giving them unique powers. I wonder if they'll go with the latter here.

I remember watching one of the Power Rangers series when I was younger and I liked it. This actually looks promising. I hope the Movie gets released worldwide.

I hope the movie succeeds and there's a resurgence of Power Rangers. Maybe the show will actually evolve then, although I'm not saying it's terrible as it is. After nearly 30 years, I think it deserves some more recognition for its sheer awesomeness.

I hopse so too!
And even though there are more than one Power Rangers series and that I only saw one and don't remember that much of it, I do remember that I really liked it.
